Turkey Drive
Help families this season by donating to the Walnut Avenue Turkey Drive! This campaign provides gift cards for essential food items from New Leaf Community Markets to those we serve. New Leaf has been a donor and supporter to Walnut Avenue for over twenty years.
Holiday Gift-Giving Campaign
Walnut Avenue invites you to help create a merry and bright holiday season for Santa Cruz County families in need. Previously known as Adopt-a-Family, this campaign will allow donors to choose a family to support through gift-giving! Stay connected to your community this season.

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month, or TDVAM! Walnut Avenue offers virtual and in-person events throughout this month about teen dating violence and health relationships.

Spring 2026 Domestic Violence Training Registration Deadline
Walnut Avenue offers the California state domestic violence certification training three times a year. The Spring and Fall trainings are for people currently volunteering, or who are wanting to volunteer, with Walnut Avenue; the Summer training is for professionals and community members who are not planning to volunteer with Walnut Avenue.

Let The Caged Bird Sing lll
Join Walnut Avenue and Musical Soulmates at this concert event in support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the survivors in our community. Our third Annual Let the Caged Bird Sing takes place on Sunday, October 12th at Kuumbwa Jazz (320-2 Cedar Street, Santa Cruz).
Musical Soulmates and Walnut Avenue Family and Women's Center are thrilled to announce that we are co-producing this beloved event. This is a bold new step! We are excited to walk hand in hand into our purpose-filled, collective healing.
We look forward to welcoming you to a vibrant, gorgeous, and healing evening of Neo-Soul with the Musical Soulmates Performers Collaborative. The evening of music is curated and designed to bring joy and energy to the room while holding space for and bearing witness to survivors, acknowledging the connection between colonialism and racism to domestic violence, empowering survivors, and bringing healing and transcendence to all.
Live music, silent auction, candle light vigil and a lot of connecting in our community!
Business After Hours: Women in Business
Walnut Avenue is excited to be a part of the "Business After Hours" Women in business networking events this year, on Wednesday October 8th, 2025 from 5:00PM-7:00PM as we host this wonderful collaboration of community!
Join Walnut Avenue and the Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce for an evening of connection, conversation, and community impact as we gather at the Walnut Avenue Family Women’s Center! We'll learn more about vital services and resources—especially meaningful as we recognize October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Enjoy an inspiring guest speaker and a special musical performance as part of this meaningful evening. Light refreshments will be served. Let’s come together to support, uplift, and inspire!
